At the start of class Dr. Geller announced that Dr. Aja Martinez would join us on November 30th, from 5pm to 5:30/5:45pm. Please try to be on time on the 30th! Dr. Martinez has a 6pm event, so she can not be with us for longer than scheduled. Our By the Week for the 30th includes what she asked us to prepare for her visit.

Next, we did another final project workshop in groups of three. Last week Dr. Geller had suggested feedback focus on: what would make this project idea doable and what are a variety of ways this project could be composed (genre, length, evidence used, text engaged, composed for what audience(s), etc.). In class on the 16th, Dr. Geller suggested the workshop groups hear one another’s ideas for final projects and discuss what a “draft” might be for each project for our November 30th Draft Workshop in class.

We used the rest of our time to talk about trying AI tools and reading two more AI articles (see last week’s By the Week) Here is what everyone read and tried. And here are notes from our conversation (feel free to add to these from your own notes).
